A grab bar is most effective when its location, height and orientation match the person using it. We combine Occupational Therapy insight with professional installation practices to help determine appropriate placement and secure mounting for the wall construction and intended use.
Many homes already have grab bars that aren't doing much good — too high, too short, fastened only to drywall, or angled in a way that doesn't match how the person actually moves. Placed thoughtfully and mounted securely, a grab bar can provide dependable support in the bath, at the toilet and at entries.
01
OT-Informed Placement
Heather positions bars based on how you transfer, stand and balance. Height, angle and length are selected around the person and their routine — not a one-size-fits-all template.
In-home measurement and trial fitting
Considers your range of motion and grip strength
Coordinated with your OT or PT when relevant
02
Secure, Appropriate Mounting
Mounting method is selected for the wall construction and intended use. That may mean opening the wall to add solid blocking, or using a properly selected engineered fastening system where it's the better fit.
Mounting appropriate to the wall structure and application
Solid blocking or approved engineered fastening systems
Clean tile and drywall finish work after install
03
Bathroom & Shower
Vertical bars at the shower entry, horizontal bars on the long wall, and angled bars for sit-to-stand transfers. Quality bars in a variety of sizes, styles and finishes that look like designed hardware, not hospital equipment.
04
Toilet & Beside the Bed
Bars positioned for the way you rise from the toilet or get out of bed — so support is where your hand reaches, not simply where the wall happens to be.
05
Entries & Steps
Exterior grab bars and assist handles at front and back doors, garage steps, and basement landings. Weather-rated finishes that hold up to Upstate SC humidity.
If you already have grab bars installed, we're happy to look at how they're mounted and whether the placement suits you — as part of a Safety Assessment.
